Program Mission:  Gold at 2020 IDBF World Championship

The Iron One program leads with an extreme focus on technical execution through a 4-year Olympic-inspired training periodization. Each phase of the program offers athletes a purposeful, science-based, and transparent methodology to reach individual and crew performance goals. With a new international race each year, athletes will gain incredible team experiences and be prepared to perform on the ultimate world-stage in 2020. The Iron One program also aims to be the most affordable premier dragon boat crew in Ontario, with a membership cost below $1000 per year, including all training extras like winter facilities, camps, paddle erg, and OC.

Program Design & Head Coach:  Nikola Radovanović

Nikola led development of the Iron Dragons Blue program and coached the crew to consecutive TIDBRF Grand Final qualifications, as well as Gold in both U24 & University divisions at the Canadian National Championship in 2015. He believes the sport of dragon boat racing is far from reaching its performance peak, and he has the plan to lead this crew to that peak. The success of the Iron One program is his ultimate passion and full-time commitment.
